Summit View



Summit View Vineyard is planted to 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, and a mix of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Malbec, Grenache, Petit Verdot, Carmenere, Petite Sirah, Tempranillo, Marsanne, Roussanne, and Riesling.

The vineyard is trained to Vertical Shoot Position system, at 1300 plants per acre.  Everything is planted on self-rooted nursery stock, but to multiple clones on the different varieties (see variety section for details).  Heat units for the site average 3000-3300 units annually and precipitation averages 6-8" annually.

Grape harvest begins in mid-September with Merlot and the balance of the varieties follow in late September to early October.  All fruit is hand-harvested at crop levels targeting 3.0 to 3.5 tons per acre.  Prices vary depending on the variety and the performance of the individual blocks.  Fruit is sold by the ton.
